Absolute works in progress. The seascape is a commission, it's 90 x 90 cm large and super great fun to do. On the left 'Pink Princess Perhaps', again, - almost done!
'moody skies' for Kathy, 90 x 90 cm. A commissioned work, acrylics on Museum canvas. Now done and SOLD.
Down by Jellico (sold) This work is in fact the start of a series of many more. 'Every good painting needs a dog in it' they used to say in the olden days of hunting (eek). Well, let me tell you, for decennia I had a very real fear of dogs. Still do not like the barky types - at all!!! This was the more ironic kinda thinking behind this series, which I dearly hope to be able to make more of! Commissions very very welcome. I reserve the right to place your beloved pet anywhere I see fit!! X (PS, thanks to a good friend, who has the most lovely dogs I have ever met, I was able to get rid of my fear! woohoo. I am now a real dog friend and they seem to like me. Also make a good 'friend's dog sitter', - for a few days!!
'change of heart', 76 x 76 cm acrylic on museum canvas, currently available at ART BOX Gallery, Christchurch. This painting is all about the power of letting go. Based on a fantastic write-up I came across on HeySigmund.com about the power of stopping to try and understand if difficult things happen and trusting life and myself to be able to just move on at times!
'Change of heart' on easel, actual colours, - about the power of moving on. Available at Artbox Gallery, Chch, NZ. It was a bit of a show stopper at the Chch Art Show as they featured it right as one walked into the show! Well, its for sale again now! :)
More of the rainbow (Te Aniwaniwa) - sold, gorgeous wee portrait, about 45 x 45 cm.
'Never Cut a Tree' response from a tree-lover, mixed media on paper, A2 - sold
'just chilling'; This more ironic sort of work was actually very much about my very Argentinian mum, who always knows how to hold a proper siesta! She looked completely different, a tad more elegant I'd say, but it refers to seeing her in this very chair on our patio when I was a teen-ager. Mami-ta is one of the strongest women I know to date, never perturbed much, always on the side of stoic, really smart, really well-read, really well-liked, still charming and cute at 86, knowing all about history and teeth of course and good wine, mum of four with a very absentee career husband on her side, you are my hero just as you are xxxx! 71 x 71 cm - sold. High quality fine art prints welcome to be commissioned. I currently use Image Vault, Christchurch to make those, they are like the real deal, most people can't tell is a giclée! Fine art print up to the size of 71 x 71 cm possible. Ask away, if interested.
Tūrangawaewae/A place to stand, a beautiful Maori concept about the rights of residence, fuzzy edge series and super soft colours this time! - available
'the way I see it' [sold] available as fine art print, about 80 x 48 cm approximately.
seascape on large piece of driftwood [sold]
'Für Tjalle' - neat little seascape that I gave to my son, hence the title....it's on a slab of found timber and feels quite sculptural.
'Lyttleton from afar'
'low-tide, - now' (sold) This was actually not the final of the original as I had added in a few shells and beachy bits. Well, the good news is: you can order this and I can lovingly hand-embellish it for a totally UNIQUE giclée that will only be yours. I would print it through Image Vault, Christchurch, then paint back in. Any size from 72 x72 cm and smaller. Just ask! Flick an email to: info@karinlange.com
'Lyttleton from afar', acrylic on found timber surface (sold)

'Mine, Mine', acrylic on museum canvas, 'Herb' - series, about 71 x 71 cm (sold many, many moons ago, but I still love him!)
'mirror of my soul' Tūrangawaewae series [sold]
