We went skiing that day...! Anything that involves the raw elements makes me feel so happy and alive!
WIP, aka not quite done yet! Keep your eyes out for this one, it will soon be done. Still at collaging stage...much fun though! 55 x 57 cm on card - in fact I painted over a photo canvas a friend had given me. Framed in a wooden, lovingly and expertly hand-painted white frame.
Every Yoga enthusiast knows what "downward dog" means, hence the title "upward dog" of this lovely sculpture to be! So exciting to work in the 3rd dimension from time to time, tiny wee reference dog model courtesy my son Keimpe who loves his 3D printer quite a bit, and so do I! Makes for really cool presents...

This is 'bol hoofd' (bulb-head), partner to 'tulip head' It's a m/m illustration/ collage work in A4, posted here purely in honour of Nono De Groot, such a dear friend, who had asked me to make a series about flowers, so that we could exhibit together. As I didn't have much trust in my own work anymore back then in 1997 , we unfortunately never did. Well, Nono, it is up here for you and I now!
'Orange Musings', work on paper - sold at the Christchurch Artshow
'tulip head' - my beloved avatar!
work on paper, 3 panels, Indian Ink, some awesome as wax crayons, acrylic - now available and made shortly after we received an S121 notice, calling for immediate evacuation of our property. I'd sneak past the red tape and work in my studio!!! The house was fine (save), it was the hill above that was deemed dangerous. Thank you thank thank you NZ, cause you decided to reinstate the hill so we were able to rebuild. Turbulent times for a single mum with two young boys who was just going through teacher training. Need I say more! Price: under negotiation.
I love this wee illustration, NFS :)
Best illustration assignment ever for the University of Amsterdam and against bullying at the work/place of study..."A NO is a NO"!
'Playing' - aka trying out things, pushing m,yself a bit, getting a bit uncomfortable at times, has now become a hugely important part of my work practice....(on timber board over gesso, about 70 x 30 cm).
